October 31st: Random Act of Kindness

This is it :(  The final day of October which means its the last day of my Random Acts of Kindness.

Hopefully I will pick it back up for December!

Today, I left all of my coworkers little treats on their desks.

October 30th: Random Act of Kindness

Today I left a little notepad with a pink pen on a neighbors door with a middle school aged daughter.  Hope she likes it :)

October 29th: Random Act of Kindness

When I went with my friend Erika and her boys to the firehouse, I happened to get a picture of Ethan and Liam that I absolutely loved.  Walgreens had one of their FREE 8x10 offers, so I had the picture printed, and got a frame for it.  I got some stickers at Hobby Lobby and I decorated the frame and gave it to her today.  :)

October 28th: Random Act of Kindness

Tonight I left a small stuffed animal on the car windshield of a neighbor who has kids.

October 27th: Random Act of Kindness

This morning I gave out one of my goody / toiletries bags to a woman with a sign asking for basically anything... and then the car behind me gave her cash, and then the car behind them gave something as well.  I started a giving train :)

My actual RAOK today, was giving all the girls at my nail salon pink ribbon pins for breast cancer awareness month :)

October 26th: Random Act of Kindness

So, today I wasnt quite sure I was going to get to complete a RAOK, and man did it bother me, LOL

I was going to leave a cute little journal type notepad with a pen on a neighbors door who has a teenage daughter... but it had a picture of a skull and crossbones on it.  It was pink, with hearts and bows and super cute... but then I thought what if they have beliefs where skulls are bad... you never know - so I felt bad and didnt do that.

Then I was going to leave a big tip for a meal I had at Stonefire Grill, IF the service was good.  Well, you order in line, then sit down and they just bring you your food.  Our person never came back to our table, they never told us where to fill our water cups and that we had to get our own silverware... we had to get our own to-go boxes because we saw where they were and not a single person ever returned to our table... so that idea was out the window.  Im actually bummed I even left a tip when I ordered which I think is a HORRIBLE way of asking for it.  Leave a tip before youve even had any service.

I was going to give two kids in line in front of us some Sponge Bob stickers, but I thought there was only one sheet... nothing was working!  I honestly was sad about it.  While eating, I took a minute and figured out there was more than one sheet of stickers... so I stopped eating, and I got up and walked to the table where those boys were and asked if they like Spong Bob.  They said yes, and their Mom had gotten up to do something, and she busted me just as I gave them the stickers.  LOL  She thought it was so nice, and asked if they thanked me and I said yes and walked away quickly.

As they were leaving, she thanked me again and she said, "We will definitely pay it forward" and I am not exaggerating, I got THE biggest chills.  I got teary eyed as well, because I loved hearing that.  It truly was awesome.  I dont really like the ones where people know its me doing it - I want to do it anonymously when possible... but it was so nice of her to say that, and it truly made my frustrating day of trying to get my RAOK of kindness out there, the perfect RAOK afterall.  

October 25th: Random Act of Kindness

Met up with a friend and gave her the cat pin I ordered with part of my Silpada Gift Certificates  :)

October 24th: Random Act of Kindness

I was running late this morning, and Im running low on RAOK that I have left.... I have a few but they are all specific to a certain type of person.... (Or actually for a specific person I will see over the next week)

So I grabbed the notepad and pencil bag I had, and I left it on the front door of my next door neighbor.

She probably wont understand it, but I hope she likes it anyway... and I hope it doesnt freak her out.  (Shes a little bit like that)  :)

October 23rd: Random Act of Kindness

Today I took the remaining three packs of EXTRA gum and left them on desks around the office :)

Its almost the end of October, and I have to say, I am going to miss doing these fun little things.

I will definitely have to do it again, and soon!

October 21st: Random Act of Kindness

Today, I went with Erika and the boys to their swim lessons...

Ethan and Liam each gave their swim instructor an envelope, with a pack of EXTRA gum that had a sticker on it that says,

"I hope you have an EXTRA great day"

We also went to lunch after, and left one for our waitress.

I had originally planned to have the boys hand them out at Tanaka Farms this morning, but with the rain, we never made it.

I had six total, so this may be a duplicated RAOK, since I have three left.  I also was going to leave some on car windshields, but again... the rain.  The one day of rain a year we get, lol

October 20th: Random Act of Kindness

Today I am giving my Mom her surprise that I got her from Silpada.

A heart bracelet, that matches mine :)

I am leaving it for her for when she gets home tonight.

October 19th: Random Act of Kindness

This morning I left a little treat on two desks upstairs...

A pack of popcorn with a note that says 

"May your Halloween be poppin"...

And a little pack of popcorn holders.

October 18th: Random Act of Kindness

I am about to go meet a friend for lunch, who is a breast cancer survivor  :)

I made a $5 donation for Lee National Denim Day in her honor, and will be giving her a goody bag of pink ribbon items.

Today, I wrote a quick note to a friend, on a "HI" card, and stuck it in the mail :)

Today is National Bosses Day...

So I made a little note for all of my four bosses and left it on their desk  :)

Its also two of my bosses birthday today...

I decorated their offices - more so the one who is turning 50.

I went home this morning to take some stuff back to my house, since I only have one week left here...

And I dropped off a little "You've Been BOO'd" basket to my neighbor.

Saturday, I had lunch with a friend, before she dropped me off at the Clambake I went to.

I jumped out of the car, and left one of these on the windshield of the car she parked next to.  I had two, so the second one I left with the receipt for our waiter at Skimmers.

October 12th: Random Act of Kindness

I have a friend who LOVES The Great Pumpkin...

I found a cute little notepad and some pens, so I am mailing her a little surprise gift today.

She has been reading my blog posts daily, through Facebook so I am hoping by blocking her today, she wont see this one LOL

October 11th: Random Act of Kindness

While watering my parents garden last night, I decided to pick a few flowers.

This morning, I left them on a coworkers desk...

Because I like her, and because I hope to put a smile on her face today.  :)

October 10: Random Act of Kindness

Today I had lunch with my friend Johnny, who I really dont get to see very often - unless we happen to be in Silkys at the same time, which really never happens anymore... or if its for Summerfest.

I knew I wanted to give him something, so I planned to have lunch with him... and also gave him back his cooler I have had in my trunk for over 2 years now, ha ha!  And he gave me the Dan Haren bobblehead he has had in his trunk for me, for over a year.  Weve seen each other, just never with our cars in the same place, oddly enough!

ANYWAY!

He lost his cat this year, which you all know I have been through... and I wanted to do something nice for him.

I printed a picture of him and Zach and framed it.

October 9th: Random Act of Kindness

Today was a bit challenging...

I woke up earlier than usual... and was trying to time my morning, and leave a little present on a neighbors doorstep.

Normally, if I leave for work at 7:30, there are no cars in the driveway.  Today, I left at about 7:20 and the driveway was full.  DOH!

I snuck up the street, and as I get to the front door... it opens.

I said NOOOOOOOOOO what are you doing!!!!

HA HA - he shut the door.  And locked it.  I was laughing SO hard.

I left my present and headed back down the street.

He came out a few minutes later to leave for work and as I pulled out, I drove up the street, and said you never saw me!  He said, I know.  :)

So, I left a little bag with some relaxation / fun items.

Glitter nail polish, small pedicure kit, sleep mask, and some smelly spray.  I put it all in a pink cup and put a little massager on top.

Probably not a surprise today, but hope it is enjoyed nonetheless.  

Hanging out with Desiree

I got together again with Desiree yesterday...

Little bit of a rough start to the day - but I met her at the Santa Ana Zoo, where she left her car.

We originally had plans to go to a Fall Festival in Huntington Beach that one of the clients at my work sent two dinner coupons and 10 ride tickets for, but the timing didnt end up working out.

We headed to Irvine and had lunch at Chilis.

After that we attempted to go to Tanaka Farms for the pumpkin patch.  The line to just get in to the parking area was insane, so we went to a smaller patch... with a "Hauted Maze" that was maybe 15 feet long.  Its ok though, it made for some awesome photo opps.

I bought us each a small mini pumpkin and we headed out.  We drove past a little lake that she said was pretty, so I found a place we could park and we went and checked it out... and of course, took some more pictures.  After that we had some more time, and she wanted to go to a pet store.  Sadly, she wanted to see puppies and this one had no puppies, but it had cats, which made me sad.

After that I dropped her off back at her car... we had a nice time chatting, finding out we have so many things in common... some good, some not so good (Random health things, lol)

I had planned on helping her fill out her transitional housing paperwork but she said her mom was able to help her with it.

October 8th: Random Act of Kindness

Today I will be going to the Orange County Rescue Mission on my lunch break to donate 6 boxes of water, and 4 boxes of lotions.

The water was donated to our sister company at work - however it hasnt settled well with a few of the bellies here in the office, so I will donate what we have.  There is basically an entire pallet of the water at our storage location.

October 7th: Random Act of Kindness

So, I was looking for a home for my very large stuffed dog...

And there is a house in my parents neighborhood where there is a very large dog, who snuggles on the grass with stuffed animals...

I thought it would be really fun for the dog to have a really big stuffed animal....

So I drove past this morning, and panicked when the gate was open and the front door was open, but I jumped out and left the dog with a note up by the front walkway, where nobody could see me.

I hope the dog enjoys it - and I hope I drive by and see him with it on the grass one day :)

October 6th: Random Act of Kindness

Today was a really fun Random Act of Kindness and I got to share it with Erika, Liam and Ethan.

I made a bucket of goodies for some firemen.

There was an open house at many of the fire stations in South County today, so we picked one - and headed over.

Erikas twins are 4... so I thought it would be fun to take them.  They made a basket of Halloween goodies to take as well.

We showed up and gave our goodies to one of the firemen, and he was so excited.  He showed all the other guys in the back, and took us inside to give us "Junior Firefighter" hats.  I of course asked for one too :)  One of the firemen said, "Wow, UNBELIEVABLE" at our treats.  It was awesome.

We stayed for about an hour playing on firetrucks and taking all sorts of pictures.  It was SO much fun!

October 5th: Random Act of Kindness

Today doing my Random Act of Kindness stressed me out a little, Im not gonna lie LOL

I had to go to two different parking lots before I felt "right".

And it was perfect, no one was around, then I got out of the car and like 5 people walked out of the grocery store into the parking lot.  DOH!

I grabbed my item, and put it on the windshield of the car parked next to me.

October 4th: Random Act of Kindness

When is Starbucks ever slow, and almost empty?

When you are trying to do a Random Act of Kindness, of course LOL

This morning I stopped at Starbucks by work, with a $5 gift card.  I ordered my coffee, and I wanted to hand it to someone as I left.

The only problem?  No one was around.

I was going to give it to one of the baristas to hand out later, but they werent very friendly and then its really no fun for me... and dont you know doing nice things for others is all about me.  HA!

I teetered back and forth the whole way to work... do I go to a drive thru location and do it the chicken way out, or do I go inside a location and do it myself... Im glad I did it myself.  

Anyway, as Im walking to my car a very good looking man was walking up, so I said, "Are you by any chance going to Starbucks" and he said yes.  I said, "Cool, heres a gift card".

He laughed and thanked me, probably confused as to what the hell was going on.  YAY!

My first get together with my Mentee...

Ive been so busy starting my Random Acts of Kindness in October, that I realized I didnt update about my first get together with my Mentee.

We went to the Santa Ana Zoo.

We just walked around, she really wanted to see the monkeys - and thats the main animal they have at this zoo... so it worked out perfect :)  Its a very small zoo... so after about 2 hours we were done.  We had some lunch and talked for another hour... then decided to head out.  I was tired (still having a reaction from my antibiotic)... and I felt sort of bad because she didnt have anywhere to be for another 4 hours, so I think she wanted to hang out a little bit longer.  I also felt bad because she mentioned she had some questions on her paperwork she is filling out for transitional housing in Orange County.  I asked her after the fact (yesterday or the day before) if she would like some help with it - and she said yes.  

I am waiting to hear from her if Saturday or Sunday works better this weekend - but I text her this morning seeing if she wants to go with me Sunday to a Fall Festival that my boss gave me some ride tickets and free dinner tickets for, so that would be ideal.

Hopefully that works out, then I can help her with the paperwork and get that put in for approval.

We talked about family, some of her siblings, and a few other things... it was nice to sit and talk.  Hopefully she had a good time.
