Homeless Awareness Month 30 Ways 30 Days - "Adopt a Resident for Thanksgiving"

Fortunately for Mercy House, unfortunately for me - they were all booked for adopting a resident for Thanksgiving.

I am still able to donate a meal for two families though.

One through AIDS Services Foundation Orange County and one through Jewish Family Services.
JFS helped me when I was unemployed.  They paid my car registration two years in a row, because I just didnt have the means to do so.
Both of my baskets (Or trays lol) will have a Happy Thanksgiving card, a $10 grocery store gift card for a turkey, stuffing, rice, potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry, canned green beans, canned corn, yams, marshmallows, dessert, cranberry juice...

November 13th: Birthday Month Celebration #13

I love coupons.
And more than I love coupons, I love FREE.

TPT is a home store by my house and they send me some coupons sometimes... and unlike other stores, you are allowed to use most of their coupons together!

I had a coupon for a free serving platter, and one for a free polka dot baking dish.
With one of them, you had to spend $20.
The store is full of Christmas items so there wasnt a lot that tickled my fancy this visit...
But then, I found candle holders.  The two of them together were $25 so I grabbed my two free items and the candle holders and went to the register.  The cashier said I had to spend $20 to get the one free item... and I said, yeah - no problem - those are $25.
Well, they were 50% off.  I had to go shop more, ha ha.
I found a few more things to get me right to $20 (Which was still hard because everything was on sale)

Here are the candle holders I bought... the two on the outside
(The middle one I already had)

And here are my free items.
I used the serving platter for my rocks, on my dining room table.
Its a really nice, thick, great platter!

(Excuse my bottle of Flexerall lol)

November 12th: Birthday Month Celebration #12

My boss always gets Free $10 coupons to Kohls...
And she always gives them to me :)
WOO HOO!
I used the card plus a 20% off coupon and I bought this shirt, which was on clearance for $13
I paid a very minimal amount for it.

Homeless Awareness Month 30 Ways 30 Days - "Take This Quiz"

Think you know about homelessness?

Take this quiz:

http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=homelessness-awareness-quiz

I scored:  4 / 10 (2 of 5 questions right)
I would have only missed the last one if I didnt second guess myself on the first two.

November 11th: Birthday Month Celebration #11

This morning, I had a somewhat nice breakfast alone at IHOP, for my free "Anniversary" breakfast.
Anniversary of my birth, I guess?
There was a very cute little boy next to me with his Dad who was reporting my every move.  "Dad, shes eating pancakes"
They were playing I SPY and he was really very cute and entertaining.

I had a morning that was, not the best... and had me wanting to find a RESET button.
I had a lot of nightmares, including the gang members from my jury duty case, my neighbors upstairs woke me up every hour starting around midnight, I got a late start leaving the house... pulled into the IHOP parking lot and heard a thud in the trunk of my rental car (so I knew it was either the Thanksgiving baskets I had in there, or the bag of stuff I have for my mentee that I was getting rid of (including her small birthday present) and it just irritated me.  It was of course the stuff for Desiree, scattered across the entire trunk... and her birthday bag ripped... so I cleaned it up, and went in for breakfast where I was sat at a table with very few inches between the next tables, and my butt caught a chair as I went to sit down, and I was mortified.  I fit, I just caught a chair that threw it off.  Ugh.

I went to get my nails done, and the lady who does my toes yelled in excitement when I got there, and I decided I deserved an extra pedicure this month.
So I got my toes done, and it felt good.

Now Im headed out to meet Desiree for lunch and maybe a movie at the $2 theater.  We were supposed to go mini golfing but I just cant with my back right now :(

Homeless Awareness Month 30 Ways 30 Days - "Thank a Veteran"

Unfortunately the link from Mercy House to send a card to a veteran, who is their client, is incorrect.

So, instead, go thank a veteran anyway!
Update your facebook, thank a service member you see on the street, anything... just say thank you... for your freedom.  :)
